Low Vision Rehabilitation

Low vision is a permanent impairment that cannot be corrected with conventional treatments or lenses. It can result from conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, or injuries, leading to symptoms such as loss of central vision, tunnel vision, blurred vision, generalized haze, extreme light sensitivity, or night blindness.

Our comprehensive exams and follow-ups with low vision doctors assess your ocular health and provide personalized strategies and support, empowering you to navigate daily activities with greater confidence and ease.

Visual Rehabilitation Therapy

Improve your participation in the activities that matter most. You’ll receive support in identifying challenging tasks and gain strategies and tools to re-engage in what’s important to you, whether it’s working, reading, cooking, or enjoying your favorite hobbies.

Access Technology Training & Support

From digital magnifiers to built-in accessibility features in your smartphone, technology can help you achieve your goals and make your world more manageable. Our specialists are here to help you find the right solutions tailored to your needs. Plus, you can receive hands-on training and test devices right in our state-of-the-art technology lab.

Seeing is Believing

We know that limited vision can mean limited learning, but it doesn’t have to! Our in-school outreach program, Seeing is Believing, supports K-12 students with low vision. For over 30 years, this program has positively impacted more than 10,000 students across Illinois. Because this program is fully funded by generous donors, students receive low vision exams and essential tools at no cost. Our goal is to ensure that vision-related challenges never hinder their educational experience, allowing every child with a visual impairment to reach their full potential.
